Lets Band Together

Have you ever thought back on how much fun it was to play that instrument you played many years (decades!) ago and wish you could do it again?  YES!

Do you watch your kids play in band or orchestra and think that it was really great fun when you played in the band?    YES!

If so, then these fun band sessions are for you!

The Academy Adult Civic Band Program is part of the Summer Music Academy at Rochester High School, offered in partnership by the Rochester Area School District and the Beaver Valley Choral Society.  For three evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm adult musicians who play an instrument now, or haven’t played in decades, are invited to register for this fun-filled music-making program.  Music will be provided!

Music reviews and rehearsals are scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2020, through Friday, June 19, 2020.  The Academy Adult Civic Band will perform on Saturday, June 20, 2020, as part of the Summer Music Academy Concert Program.

The on-campus band sessions are open to experienced musicians generally over 18 years of age.  Auditions are not required, but musicians must supply their own instrument, except for percussion.  So dig out your horn, don’t clarinet alone, and register ONLINE TODAY for the Academy Adult Civic Band Sessions!

Requirements: Sight-reading skills – skills in ensemble performance – provide your own instrument, except percussion, provide a folding music stand – commitment to participate in all sessions and finale concert.
